In utter dismay to Pakistan cricket fans and ardent Babar Azam followers, the star Pakistan skipper went unsold in the ‘The Hundred’ drafts for the 2023 edition of the English franchise T20 tournament. This happened to Babar Azam on the same day yesterday when he received the third-highest civilian honor of Pakistan, Sitara-E-Imtiaz.
The list of renowned cricketers throughout the cricketing who went unsold during the draft also includes the likes of Babar’s national teammate Mohammad Rizwan; two Caribbean veterans Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell.
Meanwhile, a section of Indian cricket fans didn’t miss this chance to troll the 28-year-old on the micro-blogging site Twitter; they took to the social media platform to come up with some hilarious and trolling reactions for the star Lahore batter.
Here’s how fans trolled Babar Azam

Notably, just a few hours back after this news of ‘The Hundred’ drafts, Babar was honored as the ‘Sitara-E-Imtiaz’ by the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The star right-hander batter shared the news of this honor with the fans from his official handles across social media platforms.
“Immense honor to have received Sitara-e-Imtiaz in the presence of my mother and father. This award is for my parents, fans, and the people of Pakistan,” reads the tweet posted by Babar Azam on his official Twitter handle.
Babar was recently in action as the skipper of Peshawar Zalmi in the recently-concluded Pakistan Super League 2023. Although his team couldn’t perform up to the expectations and registered five wins in their 10 matches during the tournament alongside five defeats. Eventually, Zalmi couldn’t make it to the final of the tournament and was eliminated from the early stage of the tournament.
Now, Babar will not be seen in the upcoming series of Pakistan’s national side against Afghanistan; star all-rounder Shadab Khan will lead the team filled with a lot of youngsters who impressed everyone with their performances in the PSL 2023.
