In less than a week, Pakistan vs New Zealand white-ball series will start. The series will start with a three-match T20I series, followed by a five-match series. Last December and early this year, the Kiwis played an all-format series against Pakistan. The Blackcaps have returned for the white-ball series. For the unversed, this series was arranged to compensate for the losses that occurred in 2021.

Apparently, around one and a half years back, NZ was supposed to play a white-ball series in Pakistan. The team had arrived in the Asian country and was prepping for the series. However, half an hour before the first game in Rawalpindi, the team left for home. They cited security reasons for canceling the series. Later, it was revealed that the food expenses for the security personnel were 27 lakhs PKR.

Meanwhile, this time around, Islamabad Police, which was responsible for security at the time, has reportedly refused to provide security. They have cited that their resources are busy performing their duties at free flour distribution centers, ongoing census, and other activities related to the holy month of Ramadan.

"The police does not have resources for providing security," the sources in the police department told Geo News.
