IPL 2021 has seen several world-class cricketers rise to the occasion and deliver for their team. In particular, a few batsmen have consistently impressed with the bat in IPL 2021 so far. However, there are also some players who started the season poorly but eventually performed better with time. That said, here is a list of 3 batsmen who started IPL 2021 poorly but have found their form now:

3. Mayank Agarwal (Punjab Kings)

The PBKS opener started his IPL 2021 campaign on a rather dismal note. In his first 2 matches for PBKS, Agarwal could only amass 14 runs in total. Although Agarwal is not playing at his brilliant best, there has been an improvement in his performances this season. The 30-year-old went on to amass 147 runs in the next 4 games for PBKS in the IPL this year. Mayank Agarwal also has a decent batting record in the powerplay overs. If Agarwal continues to perform consistently, he could definitely contend for the Orange cap this season.

2. Devdutt Padikkal (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

RCB opener Devdutt Padikkal failed to play RCB’s first 2 matches in IPL 2021. The 20 years old tested positive for COVID-19 and was in isolation during RCB’s first 2 games this season. In his first 2 matches for RCB in IPL 2021, Padikkal could only muster a total of 36 runs. However, the youngster blasted into form, amassing his maiden IPL century against RR in IPL 2021. The 20-year-old will be eager to continue delivering with the bat for RCB this season. Padikkal is certainly one of the strongest contenders to win the Orange cap this season.

1. Ruturaj Gaikwad (Chennai Super Kings)

At no 1 in this list is CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. The 24-year-old failed to impress in his first 3 games for CSK, amassing just 20 runs. With such a poor start to the campaign, Gaikwad could have been dropped from the starting XI. However, CSK skipper MS Dhoni kept faith in the youngster, and Gaikwad did not disappoint. In his next 3 matches for CSK, Gaikwad amassed scores of 64, 33, and 75 respectively. Gaikwad has played a key role in CSK’s success in this season so far.
