3. Harshal Patel (5/27)
In the opening match of IPL 2021, Harshal Patel completely stole the game from the Mumbai Indians. Patel dismissed Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan in the 16th and 18th over, respectively. In the final over of Mumbai’s innings, Patel scalped 3 crucial wickets. Patel sent back Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, and Marco Jansen to the pavilion. With this, Patel recorded his 1st ever 5 wicket haul in his IPL career. This was also the 1st 5 wicket haul by a bowler against MI in IPL history. With fantastic bowling figures of 5/27 in 4 overs, Patel is at no 3 on our list.
2. Jaydev Unadkat (5/25)
Unadkat notched up an impressive 5 wicket haul against the Delhi side in IPL 2013. Batting first, RCB posted a decent total of 183 on the board. Virat Kohli played a superb knock of 99 to help his team post a total of 183. In reply, Delhi openers Mahela Jayawardene and Virender Sehwag were dismissed in the powerplay by Unadkat. Prior to that, Unadkat sent Unmukt Chand, Kedhar Jadhav, and Morne Morkel back to the pavilion. RCB managed to win by 4 runs, as Unadkat registered the best bowling figures of 5/25.
1. Anil Kumble (5/5)
The record for the best bowling figures by an RCB player in IPL history belongs to Anil Kumble. In IPL 2009, RCB took on RR in a game that didn’t feature a lot of runs. RCB somehow managed to put up 133 runs on the board. Chasing 134, RR’s batting lineup quickly collapsed in no time. Kumble got the wickets of Yusuf Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shane Warne with relative ease. Prior to that, Kumble scalped the wickets of Munaf Patel and Kamran Khan in some style, notching a tremendous 5 wicket haul. What is remarkable about his bowling figures is that Kumble only conceded 5 runs in 16 deliveries.
