The 14th edition of the IPL started on 9th April 2021. So far in the season, we have seen some terrific run chases unfold. We have also witnessed match-winning performances by world-class cricketers. The 2nd week of IPL 2021 is finally done and dusted. With that in mind, here is a list of the 3 best bowling performances in the 2nd week of IPL 2021:
3. Moeen Ali (3/7)
The 12th match of IPL 2021 saw CSK and RR lock horns for the 1st time this season. Batting first, CSK posted a competitive total of 188 with only one wicket in hand. In reply, RR got off to a decent start. Jos Buttler was looking the most threatening with the bat against CSK. However, after Jadeja dismissed Buttler, things started falling apart for RR. Moeen Ali scalped 3 wickets in 3 overs, conceding just 7 runs in total. RR was restricted to just 143 as CSK won the match by 45 runs. Owing to a brilliant performance with bat and ball, Ali was adjudged Man of the Match.
2. Deepak Chahar (4/29)
Deepak Chahar bowled brilliantly against KKR in the 15th match of IPL 2021. Batting first, CSK posted a humongous total of 220 on the board. Faf du Plessis was CSK’s highest run-scorer in the match against KKR. In just 60 balls, du Plessis amassed an impressive 95 runs in total. In reply, KKR were bowled out for 202, falling short by 18 runs. Chahar was the main architect behind the downfall of KKR’s batting order. In just 4 overs, Chahar bagged 3 wickets and conceded only 29 runs in total. Chahar accounted for the wickets of Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Sunil Narine, and KKR skipper Eoin Morgan.
1. Amit Mishra (4/24)
No. 1 on this list is DC spinner, Amit Mishra. The 13th match of IPL 2021 saw DC lock horns with MI. MI managed to post only 137 on the board, thanks to some incredible bowling by Mishra. Bowling 4 overs, Mishra conceded only 24 runs, scalping 4 wickets in total. Owing to his brilliant spell with the ball, Mishra was adjudged Man of the Match. The veteran spinner accounted for the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, and Kieron Pollard.
