IPL 2018: 50 (42 balls)

In IPL 2018, MI faced RCB at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. Chasing a total of 168, MI’s top order faltered against the likes of Tim Southee, Mohammed Siraj, and Umesh Yadav. At 47/4 with 7 overs gone, Mumbai needed someone to step up for the side. Pandya entered the pitch and notched a decent 37 run partnership with JP Duminy. Prior to Duminy’s dismissal, Hardik Pandya notched another fine partnership of 66 with his brother Krunal Pandya. With 25 needed off 6 balls, Pandya lost his wicket in the final over as MI lost the game by 14 runs. Hardik’s knock of 50 featured a total of 5 fours and 1 six.

IPL 2019: 32* (14 balls)

In another encounter at the Chinnaswamy, MI locked horns with RCB in IPL 2019. Pandya’s cameo of 32 runs proved to be the difference on this particular occasion. At 141/7 after 17.1 overs, things were looking shaky for Mumbai. However, Hardik Pandya ensured that Mumbai would keep fighting till the end. In 14 balls, Pandya smashed 2 boundaries and 3 sixes as MI posted a decent total of 187. In reply, RCB could only muster 181 runs on the board as MI won the match by 6 runs.

IPL 2019: 37* (16 balls)

In reply, MI got off to a solid start. However, crucial wickets from Yuzendra Chahal and Moeen Ali kept Bangalore’s hopes alive. MI needed 22 runs off the last 12 balls, with Pawan Negi assigned to bowl the 18th over. Pandya sent Negi to the cleaners, smashing 2 sixes and 2 fours in the 18th over. In the last ball of the 18th over, MI chased the total and went on to win the match by 5 wickets.
