The 2nd leg of the Indian Premier League is set to take place in the UAE. Conditions in UAE are more batsman-friendly in comparison to Chennai and Ahmedabad. Hence, there is a strong chance that plenty of runs will be scored in the 2nd phase of IPL 2021. That said, here are 5 cricketers who can win Orange Cap after the UAE leg:
⦁ Shikhar Dhawan
Dhawan was the 2nd highest run-getter in the IPL last year. In 17 matches in IPL 2020, Dhawan amassed a total of 618 runs for DC. The 35-year-old was also brilliant for DC in the 1st half of IPL 2021. In just 8 matches in the 1st half of IPL 2021, Dhawan smashed a total of 380 runs. The DC opener also boasts a terrific batting average of 54.28 in the 1st half of IPL 2021. Clearly, Shikhar Dhawan is the most likely candidate to win the Orange Cap after the UAE leg.
⦁ Prithvi Shaw
Another DC player who might win the Orange Cap after the UAE leg is Prithvi Shaw. Shaw batted brilliantly for DC in the 14th edition of the IPL. In just 8 matches in the 1st half of IPL 2021, Prithvi Shaw smashed a total of 308 runs for DC. His terrific strike rate of 166.48 in the 1st half of IPL 2021 clearly highlights his effectiveness with the bat. If Shaw continues to bat in a similar form in the 2nd leg, he could win the Orange Cap after the UAE leg.
⦁ KL Rahul
KL Rahul could win his 2nd Orange Cap in the IPL this year. Rahul was the Orange Cap winner in the IPL last year. In just 14 matches in the IPL last year, Rahul racked up a total of 670 runs for Punjab. Rahul was also fantastic for Punjab in the 1st half of IPL 2021. The Punjab opener racked up a total of 331 runs in just 7 matches in the 1st half of IPL 2021. If KL Rahul manages to deliver in a similar fashion in the 2nd half of IPL 2021, he could win the Orange Cap after the UAE leg.
