With Rishabh Pant appointed as DC captain, the franchise looks set to contend for the upcoming IPL 2021. The Delhi boys will be sore from last year’s defeat to Mumbai Indians. With a perfect blend of youth and experience, DC will look to win their 1st IPL trophy this season. With such depth and competition in the squad, there is a chance that some players might be benched for the entire season.

Here are 3 players who might be benched for the entire IPL 2021 season:

3. Sam Billings

DC acquired the services of Sam Billings in this year's auction. The English cricketer represented CSK in the past. Billings recently suffered an injury while representing England in the international format. With this, there are chances that he might miss out the entire season. With Steve Smith in the lineup, the DC batting lineup looks very competitive. Billings might sit out the entire tournament.

2. Tom Curran

DC bought Curran in the IPL 2021 auction. With so much bowling depth in the squad, it is highly unlikely to see Curran with the ball this season. Moreover, a dismal outing with Australia in the limited-overs series against India raised doubts over his presence in the starting XI.

1. Chris Woakes

No 1 on this list is English bowler Chris Woakes. Woakes missed out on the IPL 2020 season and was still retained by DC. Even though Woakes will contend against the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje. The DC bowling duo was phenomenal in the IPL last year. Rabada was the highest wicket-taker last season. It is highly unlikely that Woakes might feature for DC this season. Moreover, his IPL stats don’t favor him much. In 25 matches, Woakes managed to bag only 18 wickets, with a dismal economy of 9.24.
