3 overseas players who had a great season in IPL 2021

Overseas players have been an invaluable part of the IPL since its inception back in 2008. Quite a few overseas players entertained fans with some tremendous performances with the bat and ball in the IPL this year. These overseas players also played a big role in their respective franchise’s success in IPL 2021. That said, here are 3 overseas players who had a great outing in the IPL this year:

3. Faf du Plessis (CSK)

At no 3 in this list is South African cricketer Faf du Plessis. Faf du Plessis was CSK’s highest run-getter in the IPL this year. In 7 matches for CSK in IPL 2021, du Plessis amassed 320 runs in total. Furthermore, his batting average of 64 in the IPL this year clearly highlights his consistency with the bat. Faf du Plessis played a vital role in CSK’s success this year. CSK fans will expect to see more of Faf du Plessis in the upcoming seasons of the IPL.

2. Chris Morris (RR)

RR bowler Chris Morris is the most expensive overseas player in the history of IPL. Acquired at 16.25 cr, Morris was expected to deliver for RR with the ball. Fortunately, Morris justified his price tag after a superb outing with RR in IPL 2021. In 7 matches in the IPL this year, Chris Morris scalped a total of 14 wickets for RR. Thanks to Morris’s exploits with the bat, RR managed to finish in the top 5 in the IPL 2021 points table.

1. Moeen Ali (CSK)

CSK all-rounder Moeen Ali performed exceptionally well in the IPL this year. Initially, it felt that Moeen Ali would not be able to fit in the CSK lineup. However, the England all-rounder proved his critics wrong, with a terrific outing in IPL 2021. In 6 matches in IPL 2021, Ali amassed a total of 206 runs for CSK. Furthermore, the all-rounder also scalped 5 wickets in total, averaging a superb bowling economy of 6.16 in IPL 2021. Moeen Ali’s all-round contribution played a massive role in CSK’s success in the IPL this year.
