KKR

2-time IPL champions KKR struggled to find form in the IPL this year. Out of 7 matches, KKR managed to win only 2 matches. KKR captain Eoin Morgan failed to deliver as per expectations in the IPL next season. Owing to that, KKR might not retain the England cricketer in the IPL next season. However, KKR will want to make sure that they retain their best players for the IPL next season. That said, here are 3 players that KKR might retain in the IPL next season:

3. Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill failed to impress with the bat in the IPL this year. In 7 matches in the IPL this year, Gill managed to amass a meager 132 runs in total. Gill’s terrible batting average of 18.85 in IPL 2021 clearly highlights that he was out of form. However, the KKR management is likely to give Gill another chance to prove his worth in the IPL next season. The 21-year-old was the highest run-getter for KKR in the IPL last year. KKR fans will expect Gill to bounce back and be at his best in the IPL next season.

2. Dinesh Karthik

Another Indian player that KKR might retain in the IPL next year is Dinesh Karthik. The 25-year-old was not at his best in the IPL this year. In 7 matches in IPL 2021, Karthik could only manage to muster 123 runs in total. However, Karthik was one of KKR’s best players in the IPL 2018 and 2019 seasons. Furthermore, Karthik is also expected to take over KKR’s captaincy from Eoin Morgan in the IPL next season. Hence, it is highly likely that KKR will retain Dinesh Karthik in the IPL next season.

1. Andre Russell

West Indian cricketer Andre Russell is arguably KKR’s most crucial player in the IPL. Russell has the ability to tear apart the opposition bowlers with his explosive batting style. Russell’s empathic strike rate of 179.29 speaks volumes about his hard-hitting ability. Furthermore, the West Indian can also scalp wickets for his team whenever needed. In his IPL career, Russell has scalped an impressive 68 wickets in total. KKR will surely want to retain Andre Russell in the IPL next season.
