RCB enjoyed a fair amount of success in the IPL this year. RCB managed to win 5 out of 7 matches in the IPL this season. The Bengaluru franchise will be keen on retaining some of its best players for the IPL next season. However, RCB will only be able to retain 2 Indian players and 1 foreign player in the upcoming IPL mega auction. That said, here are 3 players that RCB will want to retain in the IPL next season:

3. Virat Kohli

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is arguably RCB’s most important player. The RCB skipper has been part of the Bengaluru franchise since its inception back in 2008. Virat Kohli is also the highest run-getter in the history of IPL. In 199 matches in his IPL career, Kolhi has racked up a remarkable 6076 runs in total. In IPL 2021, Kohli racked up 178 runs in 7 matches for RCB. The RCB skipper will look to add more to his tally in the IPL next season.

2. AB de Villiers

Like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers is also one of RCB’s most important players. The Pretorian has single-handedly won several matches for RCB in the IPL. AB de Villiers has racked up an impressive 5056 runs in his IPL career. The South African boasts a tremendous batting average of 40.77 in his IPL career. Furthermore, his strike rate of 152.38 in the IPL clearly highlights his effectiveness with the bat. RCB fans will expect AB de Villiers to be at his explosive best in the IPL next season.

1. Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel endured a fantastic outing with RCB in the IPL this year. The 30-year-old spearheaded RCB’s bowling lineup in the IPL this season. In just 7 matches in IPL 2021, Harshal Patel bagged an impressive 17 wickets in total. The RCB bowler also scalped his first 5 wicket haul in the IPL against MI in the 1st match of IPL 2021. This was the first occasion in which a bowler managed to bag a 5 wicket haul against MI in IPL history. RCB’s selection committee will be keen to retain Harshal Patel for the IPL next season.
