Kane Williamson is likely to miss the remainder of the IPL this season. Williamson was appointed SRH captain after David Warner was stripped of SRH’s captaincy. Since Williamson will be on international duty for New Zealand, he is likely to skip the 2nd half of IPL 2021. SRH will look for a new captain for the 2nd half of IPL 2021 in the absence of Williamson. That said, here are 3 players who could be SRH captain in place of Kane Williamson in the 2nd phase of IPL 2021:

Jonny Bairstow

Jonny Bairstow is the most likely player to captain SRH in the 2nd half of IPL 2021. Bairstow batted brilliantly in the IPL this year. In 7 matches in IPL 2021, Bairstow smacked a total of 248 runs for SRH. The SRH opener also boasted a superb batting strike rate of 141.71 in the IPL this season. Bairstow has established himself as a crucial player in the SRH side in IPL 2021. Hence, Bairstow has a strong chance to lead SRH in the 2nd half of IPL 2021.

Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan is undoubtedly SRH’s most crucial player in the IPL. The Afghanistan cricketer performed brilliantly with the ball in the IPL this year. In just 7 games in IPL 2021, Rashid Khan scalped an impressive 10 wickets in total for SRH. The 22-year-old also maintained a superb bowling economy of 6.14 in the IPL this year. Rashid Khan has served as the vice-captain of Afghanistan in the shortest format of the game. Clearly, Rashid Khan deserves a chance to lead SRH in the 2nd half of IPL 2021.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was captain of SRH in IPL 2016 and 2017. The SRH pace bowler has been the vice-captain of SRH for quite some time in the IPL. Kumar endured a decent outing with SRH in the IPL this season. In 5 matches in the IPL this season, Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 3 wickets for SRH. If Bhuvneshwar Kumar is assigned captaincy of SRH in the 2nd half of IPL 2021, it could do wonders for his confidence as a bowler and a captain.
