Mumbai Indians pulled off an incredible victory against Chennai Super Kings in the 27th match of IPL 2021. A blistering knock by MI all-rounder Kieron Pollard sealed the victory for the 5-time IPL champions. This was MI’s 3rd victory in the IPL this season. On the other hand, CSK suffered their 2nd loss in the IPL this year. That said, here are 3 players who flopped in the match between CSK and MI in IPL 2021:

3. Shardul Thakur (CSK)

The first player in this list is CSK bowler Sharduk Thakur. The 29 year old has performed poorly in IPL 2021 so far. In 7 matches this season, Thakur managed to scalp only 5 wickets in total. Furthermore, the bowler has also leaked runs at a dismal economy of 10.33 runs per over this season. In the match against MI, Thakur leaked 56 runs in just 4 overs. Moreover, the CSK bowler only managed to pick 1 wicket in the match against CSK. Thakur’s poor outing with the ball did not do CSK any favors in the match against MI in IPL 2021.

2. Jasprit Bumrah (MI)

Another player who underperformed in the CSK-MI match was MI bowler Jasprit Bumrah. The 27 year old registered his most expensive spell in the IPL against CSK in IPL 2021. In just 4 overs, Bumrah leaked 56 runs at a poor bowling economy of 14 runs per over. Furthermore, the Indian bowler could only scalp 1 wicket in the entire match against CSK. MI skipper Rohit Sharma will back Jasprit Bumrah to make a strong comeback after a poor outing against CSK.

1. Lungi Ngidi (CSK)

At no 1 in this list is CSK bowler Lungi Ngidi. The South African bowler endured one of the worst bowling spells in his IPL career against MI recently. In 4 overs, Ngidi leaked a total of 62 runs, averaging a poor economy of 15.50 runs per over. Ngidi bowled the last over of the match, in which MI needed 16 runs to win the match. The bowler failed to contain Kieron Pollard, who single handedly won MI the match against CSK. After Ngidi's terrible performance with the ball against MI, we might see Dwayne Bravo start the next match for CSK.
