In the 26th match of IPL 2021, PBKS edged past RCB to win by 34 runs. RCB skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and put Punjab to bat first. In the end, RCB fell short by 34 runs as Punjab registered its 3rd win of the season. That said, here are 3 players who flopped in the match between PBKS and RCB in IPL 2021:

3. Devdutt Padikkal (RCB)

Since Devdutt Padikkal amassed his maiden IPL century against RR, he has failed to impress with the bat this season. The 20 year old has, on several occasions, exposed his stumps to the bowlers this season. However, that tactic backfired in the match against PBKS. Batting against Riley Meredith, Padikkal went to to expose his stumps. However, he completely misjudged the ball as it crashed into the stumps. The RCB opener could only manage to contribute 7 runs in the 6 balls he faced.

2. Deepak Hooda (PBKS)

Deepak Hooda looked in scintillating form in the early stages of the IPL this season. However, the 26 year old has seen a decline in his performances recently. Batting at no 5, Deepak Hooda played a needless shot in Shahbaz Ahmed’s over, getting out for just 5 runs. Prior to Hooda’s dismissal, the duo of Nicholas Pooran and Shahrukh Khan got out for a duck. Luckily for PBKS, KL Rahul kept firing with the bat till the end.

1. Glenn Maxwell (RCB)

Glenn Maxwell returned to take on his former IPL team. However, he was ousted by the brilliance of Harpreet Brar. Before dismissing Maxwell, Brar got the better of Virat Kohli. The RCB skipper could not judge Brar’s delivery, as it went on to hit the stumps. Just like his skipper, Maxwell failed to interpret Brar’s delivery, which crashed into the stumps. The Australian all rounder got out for a duck in the first ball he faced. The PBKS spinner went on and scalped the wicket of the dangerous AB de Villiers, which swayed the match in Punjab’s favour.
