The hotly anticipated India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2022 is almost upon us. The two cricketing powerhouses not playing bilateral series makes the upcoming match even more exclusive. While cricket is a highly unpredictable game, there is a good chance that India will win the upcoming battle. Let’s look at the three reasons why India will come out on top against Pakistan in the Asia Cup match on August 28th.
Indian batting firepower

The Indian team’s batting depth is almost unmatched in the Asia Cup. The Indian team is highly packed with quality in the batting department in all positions. In Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, the team has experience. In Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant, India also boasts a great deal of aggression which has the ability to down the Pakistan side.
While Pakistan has the number one T20I batter in Babar Azam, India matches their neighbour with Suryakumar Yadav who has had a steep rise to number two on the rankings. Pakistan, however, does not have as much quality as India does in all the other places, which would eventually turn out to India’s advantage in the mega clash.
The former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson is also of the same opinion. Predicting India to be the winner, he said, “They’ve got so much firepower all the way through their batting order, so it’s going to be hard to be able to contain them.”
Absence of Shaheen Afridi

The Pakistan team was rocked by the loss of premium pacer bowler Shaheen Afridi before the start of the Asia Cup. Afridi was earlier ruled out of the mega event with a knee ligament injury.
The pace sensation had sent the Indian top order packing in the 2021 T20I World Cup. Afridi was able to dismiss, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli in his spell of 3/31 scripting a huge win for Pakistan.
Left arm pace has also worried the Indian side, which is why his absence from the upcoming match would allow all three Indian batters to play without a fear.
Yuzvendra Chahal's trickery

While Pakistan has a good batting lineup as well as a good bowling combination, they do not have anyone of Yuzvendra Chahal’s quality. The right-arm spinner is known to spin cobwebs and dupe batters into giving him their wicket.
The Indian bowler has taken 79 wickets in 62 matches for India as well as 166 wickets in 131 matches in the Indian T20 League. Chahal is the differential between these two teams, someone who could be the reason for India’s win over Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup match.
