The eighth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup is going on in Bangladesh. The host country came up to this tournament as the defending champions of the last edition. Now, on 7 October 2022, India Women will lock horns with their arch-rivals Pakistan Women. Already both teams have played three matches so far.

Speaking of form, India have won all of their matches convincingly. While Pakistan faced a shocking defeat against Thailand Women in the last match after winning the first two games. Hence, the stage will be set for a good match but India Women have performed very well in recent encounters. There are several reasons which make India Women's favourite over Pakistan ahead of the next match.

Here are three reasons why India Women can easily defeat Pakistan Women in the Asia Cup 2022

Top-order batters have been in good form recently for India Women. Before this Asia Cup. batters like Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur performed exceptionally well in England. Now, in three matches of this ongoing tournament, Jemimah Rodrigues performed superbly. After making a comeback from injury, she has delivered a statement so far.

Speaking of the tournament, Jemimah has scored 151 runs in two innings so far, with an average of 151. She has scored two fifties in those innings at an overall strike rate of 154.08. Along with her, Shafali Verma also had a good inning of 46 runs against Malaysia Women. So, with such an excellent recent form, these batters give India Women a considerable advantage ahead of their arch-roval Pakistan.

Bowlers have been in top-notch form for India Women in recent matches. In the recently concluded ODI series in England, bowlers did well to control the score of England. Now, in the ongoing Asia Cup, bowlers have been continuing their performances so far. As of now, Dayalan Hemalatah has picked up four wickets in two innings.

She has grabbed those wickets at an economy of 4.51. Along with her, Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad have also taken three wickets each. Hence, all bowlers have been chipped in with some crucial contributions. Hence, it also provides a massive advantage compared to the available bowling unit for Pakistan Women.

Pakistan Women have managed to win two matches out of three games so far in the Asia Cup. But, their batters have failed to perform consistently. Only, their opening batter, Sidra Ameen has performed as she has scored 123 runs in three matches. Ameen has smashed those runs at an average of 61.50.

However, still strike rate has been a big issue for all Pakistani batters. Sidra has scored those runs at a strike rate of 100.81. Other batters have failed to score big and failed to score at a quick rate. Therefore, against India’s quality bowling unit, Pakistan batters will find it tough again.
