It has been a rollercoaster ride for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. The 2-time IPL champions had a poor outing in IPl 2020, finishing 5th in the table. The franchise concluded some great signings in the IPl 2021 auction. The likes of Harbhajan Singh, Shakib Al Hasan, and Ben Cutting have joined the KKR franchise. The squad seems to have the perfect balance of experience and youth. Here are 3 reasons why KKR will pose a threat to every IPL side this year:

1. An experienced captain in the form of Eoin Morgan

Eoin Morgan became the KKR captain back in IPL 2020. The management has also decided to keep things unchanged in the captaincy department. Eoin Morgan has a ton of experience in international cricket. Furthermore, he has also been captain of the England T20I side for the past 12 years. Eoin Morgan is not only a superb captain but is also an equally good batsman. With a strike rate of 126.32 in the IPL, Morgan is certainly a force to reckon with. KKR fans will back Morgan to bring bag glory days back to the Kolkata Franchise.

2. Great quality of dynamic all rounders in the side

With all-rounders such as Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Shakib Al Hasan, KKR clearly has quality match-winners in the side. Andre Russell is probably one of the cleanest hitters of the ball in IPL history. His outstanding strike rate of 182.33 clearly highlights that. Sunil Narine, meanwhile, is a terrific spinner of the ball. His economy rate of 6.78 in the IPL clearly shows how invaluable he is to the KKR team. Shakib Al  Hasan is one of the most renowned all-rounders of modern cricket. With such all-rounders, KKR could easily run riot against any opposition in the IPL.

3. The perfect balance of experience and youth

The addition of Harbhajan Singh and Shakib Al Hasan will surely add experience to the KKR squad. However, the KKR franchise also has some quality bowlers in the form of Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav. In the batting department, Indian youngster Shubman Gill could open for the KKR side after a superb outing with India this year. Nitesh Rana has also been in great touch and could provide an alternative for the no 3 spots. In the pace bowling department, KKR will have the experience of Pat Cummins. However, he will also have company from youngsters such as Prasidh Krishna, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, and Shivam Mavi.
