New Zealand will play against England in a 2-match Test series starting on 2nd June. It has been 22 years since New Zealand won a Test Series in England. But according to several experienced players and cricket gurus, New Zealand has a good chance of setting the record straight with this test match.

Three main reasons that can help New Zealand win a Test series in England are as follows

Strong fast bowling line up

With bowlers like Tim Southee, Neil Wagner, and Kyle Jamieson, the pace lineup of New Zealand is strong. The pace trio has been successful in dominating batsmen all over the world with their tenacity to bowl probing lines and lengths.

Tim Southee has proved to be lethal with a new ball. But Wagner is most effective at breaking crucial partnerships with a semi-old ball. Since early 2019, Wagner has picked up 61 wickets from just 21 overs at an average of less than 20. On the other hand, Kyle Jamieson has picked up 36 wickets from just 6 test matches so far.

Stability of the Middle-order

The middle-order duo of Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson has been the strength of New Zealand’s batting lineup for almost a decade. Both the batsmen have over 7000 runs in red-ball cricket. They have an average of 50 against England and both of them would hope to play their best match against England.

Apart from Taylor and Williamson, BJ Watling would also play a crucial role. He has had consistent batting performance against the English team. He had previously made match-defining runs that had led to New Zealand’s Victory.

New Zealand's recent form

The Kiwis have been unbeaten in Tests for 17months straight. They would definitely head into the Test series high on confidence. This team has managed to win 10 matches since September 2019 which helped them qualify first for the World Test Championship final. The English team is definitely hard to beat at home. But the Williamson-led New Zealand team would leave no stone unturned to secure a historic win in England after 22 years.
