KL Rahul is arguably one of the most talented Indian batsmen to play in the Indian Premier League. The 29-year-old already has achieved quite a few records in the IPL. Firstly, he holds the record for the fastest half-century (50 in 14 balls) in IPL history. Furthermore, his scintillating knock of 132 in IPL 2020 is the highest score by an Indian in IPL history. The PBKS captain was also IPL 2020’s highest run-scorer. That said, here are 3 milestones that KL Rahul might achieve in IPL 2021:

3. Register his 25th IPL 50 this season

In his IPL career, KL Rahul has amassed 2 centuries and 24 fifties in 87 matches. What is even more remarkable is that 22 out of 26 fifties came in a period of 4 years. Hence, this means that the 29-year-old has amassed a fifty in every 2nd match for the past 4 years in the IPL. With Rahul in brilliant batting form this season, we might see him notch his 25th IPL fifty soon.

2. Register his 50th catch in IPL 2021

While KL Rahul has been brilliant with the bat, he has also been quite effective behind the stumps. The PBKS skipper also donned the gloves for the Indian national team on several occasions. In his IPL career, KL Rahul has 43 catches and 5 stumpings in 87 matches. With the PBKS bowling department in good touch, KL Rahul might achieve this milestone in no time.

1. Reach the 3000 run landmark

KL Rahul has dominated with the bat for quite some time in the IPL. The PBKS skipper was the highest run-getter in the IPL last year. Moreover, KL Rahul is also the 18th highest run-scorer in IPL history. In 87 games, KL Rahul has amassed a total of 2887 runs. Hence, the 29-year-old is just 113 runs short of amassing 3000 runs in his IPL career. If KL Rahul achieves this milestone in his next 7 IPL matches, he will become the 2nd fastest cricketer to reach the 3000 run landmark in IPL history.
