Rajasthan Royals is the team to suffer the most if England’s overseas players skip the remainder of IPL 2021. English cricketers are the pillars of the RR side and RR has relied on them to deliver for the team in the IPL this year. However, on account of international duty, English players will have to skip the remaining matches of IPL 2021. That said, here are 3 RR players that might not play the 2nd half of IPL 2021:
3. Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler performed brilliantly for RR in the IPL this year. In just 7 matches in IPL 2021, Buttler racked up an impressive 254 runs for RR. Buttler also racked up his maiden IPL century in a match against SRH in the IPL this year. The English cricketer has delivered consistently for RR in the last 3 seasons in the IPL. Buttler’s absence will be a big blow for RR in the 2nd half of IPL 2021.
2. Ben Stokes
Ben Stokes only managed to make a single appearance in the IPL this year. Owing to a shoulder injury, Ben Stokes could no longer continue in the IPL this season. However, Stokes performed brilliantly for RR in the IPL last year. In just 8 matches in IPL 2020, Stokes racked up an impressive 285 runs in total. The England all-rounder also scalped 2 wickets for RR in the IPL last year. Stokes is set to fully recover from his shoulder injury within a couple of months. However, Stokes will be on international duty with England and is set to skip the remainder of IPL 2021. RR will definitely miss the services of Ben Stokes in the 2nd half of IPL 2021.
1. Jofra Archer
Jofra Archer bowled brilliantly for RR in the IPL last year. In just 14 matches in IPL 2021, Archer scalped an impressive 20 wickets in total. The 26-year-old also maintained a superb bowling economy of 6.55 runs per over. However, Archer incurred an injury and could not participate in the IPL this year. Archer will be on international duty in September and is set to miss the remaining matches of IPL 2021.
