3 teams that might sign Dushmantha Chameera as a replacement in the 2nd leg of IPL 2021

Dushmantha Chameera has been superb for Sri Lanka in the past few weeks. The right arm pace bowler scalped an impressive 11 wickets in his last 4 outings for Sri Lanka. In 25 T20I matches for Sri Lanka, Chameera has scalped 26 wickets for Sri Lanka. Quite a few IPL franchises will look for replacements in the 2nd leg of the IPL this season. Owing to that, some IPL teams might be interested in signing Dushmantha Chameera as a replacement. Here are 3 IPL teams which might sign Dushmantha Chameera as a replacement in the 2nd leg of IPL 2021:

  • Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals had signed Dushmantha Chameera back in 2018. However, Chameera did not get to play a single game for RR in the IPL that season. RR will be without the services of Jofra Archer and Mustafizur Rahman in the 2nd leg of IPL 2021. Hence, there is a possibility that RR might sign Chameera in the UAE leg of IPL 2021. It will be quite intriguing to see how Dushmantha Chameera performs for his former IPL team in the UAE leg of IPL 2021. 

  • Kolkata Knight Riders

Australian bowler Pat Cummins will not be available for the 2nd leg of the IPL this season. Hence, KKR will be eagerly looking to find a suitable replacement for the Australian bowler. Dushmantha Chameera is one of the possible candidates to replace Pat Cummins in the 2nd leg of IPL 2021. Chameera could serve as a solid overseas backup option for KKR in the 2nd leg of IPL 2021. 

  • Delhi Capitals

Another IPL team which might sign Dushmantha Chameera in the 2nd leg of IPL 2021 is Delhi Capitals. DC will play the 2nd leg of IPL 2021 without the services of Chris Woakes. Hence, DC will look for a suitable replacement for the English cricketer. Dushmantha Chameera might just be the perfect candidate to replace Chris Woakes in the 2nd leg of the IPL this season.
