MI all-rounder Krunal Pandya endured a dismal outing in the IPL this year. In 7 games in IPL 2021, Pandya scored only 100 runs in total. The 30-year-old also failed to impress with the ball in the IPL this season. Pandya only managed to scalp 3 wickets in the IPL this year. Owing to poor performance in the IPL this year, Pandya might be released by the MI franchise. Quite a few IPL teams will look to acquire Krunal Pandya for the IPL next season. Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB might not retain Washington Sundar for the IPL next season. Sundar performed poorly with both ball and bat in the IPL this year. In 6 matches in IPL 2021, Sundar could only manage to amass 31 runs with the bat. Furthermore, Sundar could only manage to scalp 3 wickets in the entire season this year. RCB could acquire Krunal Pandya, who could strengthen their batting order and also scalp wickets with the ball.
Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals might bid farewell to Axar Patel next season in the IPL. Delhi is only allowed to retain 2 Indian players. Hence, it is highly likely that Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant will be retained by the Delhi franchise for the IPL next season. Patel’s absence could be filled by Krunal Pandya’s acquisition in the IPL 2022 auction. Pandya could come in handy as a middle-order batsman. Furthermore, Pandya could also bowl a couple of overs for the DC side if needed.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad is in a dire need of a reliable middle-order batsman. SRH has experimented with Kedhar Jadhav, Abdul Samad, and Vijay Shankar. However, none of them delivered consistently for SRH in the IPL this season. Krunal Pandya’s acquisition could do wonders for the SRH side in the IPL next season. Apart from being a reliable middle-order batsman, Pandya could also bowl a couple of overs for the SRH side. The all-rounder could be a valuable acquisition for SRH in the IPL 2022 auction.
