The Royal Challengers Bangalore recently released Indian cricketer Shivam Dube ahead of the 2021 IPL auction. RCB acquired Shivam at a whopping 5 cr 2 years back. However, Shivam failed to live up to the hype. In 15 matches, Shivam only managed to amass a total of 169 runs.

Shivam has the potential to do way better in the IPL. This is clearly backed by the fact that Shivam has put some decent performances in the domestic circuit.

Here we list 3 franchises that might sign Shivam Dube in the 2021 IPL auction:

Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals recently released their stars Steve Smith and Robin Uthappa. This has opened up a couple of spots for players. The Royals are in dire need of a finisher who can bat at the end of the order after Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes. Shivam could fit in perfectly. While Rahul Tewatia could bat at no 6, Shivam could fill the no 7 spot to provide an extra batting option.

Kings XI Punjab

Just like the Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab are in a dire need of a finisher as well. Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran play at the top of the order. However, Punjab have struggled with the bottom of the batting order. Players like Glenn Maxwell and Jimmy Neesham have struggled to be consistent in the lower order. Punjab has already released Krishnappa Gowtham and Jagadeesha Suchith. Shivam Dube could fit in perfectly.

Mumbai Indians

Dube stole the spotlight with his splendid batting in the T20 Mumbai competition. Not only that, Dube has also been brilliant for Mumbai in the domestic circuit. Hence, there is a possibility that he might shine for the Indians in IPL 2021. MI already have a plethora of all-rounder options. Kieron Pollard and brothers Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya. Dube might fit in well as a backup option. Shivam is also well tuned to the environment at Wankhede. He might turn out as a fruitful signing for the 5 time champions.
