T20 World Cup

The BCCI recently announced that the T20 World Cup will be hosted by UAE. Previously, India was all set to host the T20 World Cup. However, a surge in COVID-19 cases in India forced the BCCI to choose another suitable venue. A shift in venue will certainly favor a few teams in the T20 World Cup. Here is a list of 3 teams that will benefit from the T20 World Cup shifting to the UAE:

⦁ England

The England T20I team is the most likely to benefit from the rescheduling of the T20 World Cup. England is set to play the spin duo of Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali in the playing XI of the T20 World Cup. Moreover, the pitch conditions in the UAE are better suited for spinners than for pace bowlers. Hence, there is a strong chance that the England T20I team will bowl well in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

⦁ Pakistan

Another team that will benefit from the rescheduling of the T20 World Cup in Pakistan. The Pakistan T20I team is set to play the spin duo of Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan in the starting XI of the T20 World Cup. The duo of Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan scalped a total of 13 wickets in 15 T20I matches in 2020. Hence, there is a strong chance that the Pakistani duo could deliver a similar performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

⦁ Afghanistan

The Afghanistan T20I team does not have the best pace bowlers in the world. However, they do have 2 of the best spin bowlers in the T20I format. Afghanistan is set to play the spin bowling duo of Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the playing XI of the T20 World Cup. Rashid Khan is currently the best spin bowler in the limited-overs format. Moreover, Mujeeb Ur Rahman is the 6th ranked bowler in the ICC T20I bowlers rankings. Hence, there is a strong chance that Afghanistan’s bowling department will perform in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
