The Indian Premier League has entertained fans across the globe. Every year, fans get to witness some of the most exhilarating cricket action. Uncapped players also get a chance to showcase their ability in the IPL every year. While some uncapped players impress, some uncapped players fail to deliver as per expectations. That said, here is a list of 3 uncapped players who performed poorly in IPL 2021:
3. Rajat Patidar (RCB)
RCB acquired the services of Rajat Patidar after a brilliant outing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this year. In just 5 matches, Patidar smacked 221 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this year. However, the 27-year-old failed to replicate a similar performance in the IPL this year. In 4 matches in IPL 2021, Patidar managed to amass only 71 runs in total. Furthermore, his dismal batting average of 17.75 highlights his ineffectiveness with the bat this season. Patidar will have to wait a bit longer for another opportunity to play for RCB in the IPL next year.
2. Nitish Rana (KKR)
Nitish Rana started his IPL 2021 campaign on a high note. The KKR opener smashed consecutive fifties in his first 2 matches in the IPL this season. However, Rana could only manage to amass 65 runs in the next 5 matches for KKR this season. The 26-year-old failed to deliver consistently with the bat for KKR in IPL 2021. There are chances that Rana could be dropped as an opener for KKR in the next season of the IPL.
1. Rahul Tewatia (RR)
Another uncapped player who failed to impress in the IPL this year is RR all-rounder Rahul Tewatia. Tewatia performed brilliantly in the IPL last year, amassing 255 runs and scalping 10 wickets in 14 matches. However, he failed to replicate his performance in IPL 2021. In 7 matches in IPL 2021, Tewatia scored only 86 runs in total. Furthermore, the 27-year-old managed to scalp only 2 wickets in the IPL this year. Owing to a poor outing in IPL 2021, Tewatia might miss out on a chance to represent India in the T20 World Cup.
