The cricket fraternity has witnessed several ICC tournaments throughout the years. Generally, teams prefer to play the ICC tournaments with the most experienced players. However, the Indian cricket team prefers a combination of youth and experience for the ICC tournaments. That said, here is a list of the 3 youngest cricketers ever to represent India in the ICC tournament finals:

3. Shubman Gill (21 years)

Shubman Gill is set to start for India against New Zealand in the World Test Championship final. Gill is currently 21 years old. Several Indian fans expected either Hanuma Vihari or Mayank Agarwal to start for India against New Zealand. However, Gill performed brilliantly against Australia and earned himself a place in India’s starting XI for the World Test Championship final. The 21-year-old will look to make the most of this opportunity in the World Test Championship final against New Zealand.

2. Rohit Sharma (20 years)

Rohit Sharma is the 2nd youngest cricketer ever to represent India in the ICC tournament finals. Sharma was part of India’s T20I squad for the T20 World Cup back in 2007. The Indian opener represented India in the final of the 2007 T20 World Cup against Pakistan. Rohit Sharma was only 20 years old then. Sharma’s knock of 30 guided India to a total of 157 in 20 overs. Hence, Pakistan needed to chase a total of 158 to win the final. In the end, India successfully managed to defend the total and went on to win the T20I match by 5 runs.

1. Yuvraj Singh (18 years)

Yuvraj Singh is the youngest Indian cricketer ever to represent India in the ICC tournament finals. Singh was part of India’s starting XI against New Zealand in the ICC Knockout Trophy back in 2000. He was just 18 years old then. New Zealand needed to chase a total of 265 to win the ICC Knockout Trophy final. In the end, New Zealand went on to win the match and the ICC Knockout Trophy.
