The BCCI established the Women’s T20 Challenge back in the year 2018. The inaugural edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge was won by the Supernovas. Supernovas successfully managed to defend the title in the 2019 edition. The Trailblazers were the winners of the most recent edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge. Since the inception of the Women’s T20 Challenge, we have witnessed some spectacular individual performances. That said, here is a list of the 4 best individual performances in the Women’s T20 Challenge:
4. Jemimah Rodriguez v Velocity
Jemimah Rodriguez batted brilliantly in a T20 match against Velocity in the 2nd edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge. In just 48 balls, Jemimah smacked an impressive 77 runs in total. Her superb knock with the bat featured a total of 10 boundaries and 1 six. Jemimah’s unbeaten knock of 77 guided Supernovas to a total of 142. In the end, Supernovas went on to win the match by a margin of 12 runs.
3. Chamari Atapattu v Trailblazers
Chamari Atapattu batted superbly in a T20 match against Trailblazers in the 3rd edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge. In just 48 balls, Atapattu smashed an impressive 67 runs in total. Her terrific knock with the bat featured a total of 5 fours and 4 sixes. Atapattu’s knock of 67 guided Supernovas to a total of 146. In the end, Supernovas went on to win the match by 2 runs.
2. Sophie Ecclestone v Velocity
Ecclestone bowled brilliantly in a T20 match against Velocity in the Women’s T20 Challenge 2020. In just 3 overs, Ecclestone scalped an impressive 4 wickets in total for Trailblazers. Moreover, Ecclestone also maintained a superb bowling economy of 2.80 runs per over. Trailblazers bowled out Velocity for a meager total of 47. In the end, Trailblazers went on to win the match by a margin of 9 wickets.
1. Smriti Mandhana v Supernovas
Smriti Mandhana ran riot with the bat against Supernovas in the final of the Women’s T20 Challenge 2020. In just 49 balls, Mandhana amassed 68 runs in total. Mandhana’s knock of 68 guided Trailblazers to a total of 118. In the end, Trailblazers defeated Supernovas by 16 runs to win their maiden Women’s T20 Challenge Trophy.
