4. Mohammad Azharuddin (47)
Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin was Test captain of India from 1990-1999. Azharuddin was captain of the Indian Test team on 47 occasions. Under Azharuddin’s captaincy, India won 14 Tests, lost 14 Tests and drew 19 Tests. Unfortunately, Azharuddin’s career came to a premature end after he was charged guilty of match fixing.
3. Sourav Ganguly (49)
Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly is arguably one of India’s most successful captains in the Test format. Sourav Ganguly was captain of the Indian Test team on 49 occasions. Under Ganguly’s captaincy, India won 21 Tests, lost 13 Tests and drew 6 Tests. Ganguly was captain of the Indian Test team from 2000-2005.
