4 instances in WWE when Rey Mysterio's mask was stolen

The veteran WWE superstar Rey Mysterio has recently been inducted into the Hall of Fame. This left the veteran on the gaining end of a lot of praise from the wrestling arena. He was one of the most famous social media trends just after his induction into the hall of fame.

He had been there with ECW and WCW before starting his stint with the WWE company. Apart from this, he was also part of a few independent commercial promotions. He already had an amazing fan base till the time he started his career in WWE.

Along with all this, there has been a special identity with Rey Mysterio that continued with him throughout his entire career in the WWE; it was none other than his mysterious mask that went on to become part of his identity both in and outside the ring.

Eddie Guerrero

The infamous feud between Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero on air before they started their time with WWE. It was the incident that happened when both superstars were active in WCW. Although the two were very close friends in the real life.

But out of nowhere, Guerrero happened to interrupt a match between Rey Mysterio and Dean Malenko; later on, he snatched and unveiled Mysterio’s mask. The same incident happened in the mid-2000s in WWE.

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes and Rey Mysterio locked horns in a single header match in which Rhodes’ nose was broken by the latter. Later on, in SmackDown, Rhodes aimed to take revenge for his injury with Mysterio.

Cody Rhodes uses his father to make a strategy against Mysterio; eventually, the brawl between the two superstars was started from the entrance ramp. Eventually, the former succeeded in his intentions of pulling off Mysterio’s mask and unveiling his face.

Randy Orton

Randy Orton is famous in the WWE Universe for his amazing aggressive approach and fearless attitude. He is the guy who can go to any level to clinch a match in his favor. He did a similar sort of antic during his clash with Rey Mysterio in SmackDown almost 14 years back in the year 2009.

Orton’s anger was not controlled even after ending the match with a win; he kept attacking Rey Mysterio and went on to take off the latter’s mask. Later on, he started parading with Mysterio’s mask with a proud feeling.

Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio became a sensation in the WWE universe just after starting his stint with the company. Jr. Mysterio never left a chance to mock his father by taunting on him a couple of occasions. Notably, sr. Mysterio was the 17^th entrant in the Royal Rumble match. Interestingly he was not noticed there by the fans.

Meanwhile, his son Dominik was the next entrant just after his father and in utter shock to everyone, he came with his father’s mask.
