4 players that MI could retain in the IPL 2022 mega auction

MI endured an average outing in the 1st leg of the 14th edition of the IPL. The IPL 2020 champions managed to win only 4 out of 7 matches in the 1st half of IPL 2021. The Mumbai franchise will look to retain its best players and offload players who have performed poorly.

Rohit Sharma

At no 1 in this list is Indian opener Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma is arguably MI’s most important cricketer in the IPL. Sharma is also the most successful captain in the history of IPL. In 202 matches in the IPL, Rohit Sharma has amassed an impressive 5480 runs in total. MI will definitely want to retain its current skipper for the IPL next season. 

Jasprit Bumrah

Another player whom MI might retain in the IPL 2022 mega auction is pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Jasprit Bumrah has been highly effective with the ball for MI for quite some time now. In 7 matches in the 1st leg of the IPL this season, Jasprit Bumrah scalped a total of 6 wickets for MI. Bumrah also maintained a decent bowling economy of 7.11 in the 1st leg of the IPL this season. 

Hardik Pandya

At no 3 in this list is Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Pandya is renowned for his explosive batting ability in the T20 format. The Indian all-rounder boasts a terrific strike rate of 157.23 in his IPL career. MI will look forward to retaining Hardik Pandya in the upcoming IPL 2022 mega auction. 

Kieron Pollard

At no 4 in this list is West Indian all-rounder Kieron Pollard. Pollard is undoubtedly one of the most explosive batsmen to ever play in the IPL. In 7 matches in the 1st leg of IPL 2021, Pollard smashed a total of 168 runs. The West Indian also scalped 3 wickets for MI in the 1st leg of IPL 2021. The Mumbai franchise will do its best to retain the West Indian all-rounder for the IPL next season.
