On 30 October 2022, Zimbabwe took on Bangladesh in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup in Brisbane. Zimbabwe were coming off after defeating Pakistan in their last game. On the other hand, Bangladesh were coming off after a defeat against the Proteas. So, fans were hoping for another great match between these two sides.
Speaking of the match, Shakib al Hasan won the toss and choose to bat first. For them, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Soumya Sarkar came out to open the innings. Zimbabwe bowlers started well as they took the first wicket at 10 runs only. Then, Bangladesh batters tried to stable the innings together against Zimbabwe.

Shanto was the star of the batters as he scored 71 runs off 55 balls, at a strike rate of 129.09. He managed to hit seven fours and one six in his innings. Along with him, middle-order batters came up with some crucial contributions. Skipper, Shakib Al Hassan scored 23 runs off 20 balls, including one four only. Even, Afif Hossain scored 29 runs off 19 balls, including one four and one six. For Zimbabwe, Richard Ngarava took two wickets for 24 runs in four overs. Along with him, Blessing Muzarabani also took two wickets for 13 runs in just two overs. Thus, Bangladesh managed only 150 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs.
In reply, Zimbabwe had a devastating start to that chase. They lost four wickets for just 35 runs in 5.5 overs. Then, Sean Williams scored 64 runs off 42 balls, including eight fours. Along with him, Ryan Burl remained not out on 27 runs off 25 balls, including two fours and one six. But, in the last delivery, Zimbabwe needed five runs to win the match. But, the batter got out. Then, a drama happened as umpires called tha delivery a no-ball. Players came back again as Zimbabwe needed four runs off the last ball. But, they failed to score as Bangladesh defeated them by three runs. Fans went crazy after seeing such a dramatic end to this class in the ongoing World Cup.
