The remaining matches of the 14th edition of the IPL are set to take place in UAE, starting September. The players will have ample time to reassess their performances and be prepared for the 2nd half of IPL 2021. Quite a few players performed below par in the 1st half of IPL 2021. Those players could get a chance to regain form in the 2nd half of IPL 2021. That said, here are 5 players who performed poorly in the 1st half but could wreak havoc in the 2nd half of IPL 2021:
1. Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan struggled to score runs in the IPL this year. In 5 matches in IPL 2021, Kishan could only rack up 73 runs in total. However, Kishan was in blistering form in the IPL last year. The 22 year old racked 516 runs in the IPL last year. Since UAE will host the remaining matches of IPL 2021, we could see Kishan could spring into form in the 2nd half of IPL 2021.
2. David Warner
IPL 2021 was a season to forget for David Warner. The Australian cricketer was stripped off his captaincy in the IPL this year. Furthermore, Warner was also benched in the final games for SRH in IPL 2021. However, Warner has a great track record when he has played in the UAE. Hence, the 2nd half of IPL 2021 could see a revival in form for David Warner.
3. Kagiso Rabada
Kagiso Rabada struggled to scalp wickets consistently in the IPL this year. In 7 matches in IPL 2021, Rabada scalped only 8 wickets in total. However, the South African was the highest wicket taker in IPL 2020, scalping 30 wickets in total. A change in venue might work wonders for Rabada in IPL 2021.
4. Shubman Gill
Shubman Gill struggled to score runs consistently in the IPL this year. In 7 matches in the IPL this year, Gill managed to rack only 132 runs. However, Gill endured a superb outing with KKR in the IPL last year. Gill racked 440 runs for KKR in the IPL last year. The 21 year old could resurrect his old form in the 2nd half of IPL 2021.
5. Yuzvendra Chahal
Chahal endured a dismal outing in IPL 2021. In 7 matches for RCB in IPL 2021, Chahal could only pick 4 wickets in total. However, Chahal looked in fine form in the IPL last year. The 30-year-old scalped 21 wickets for RCB in the IPL last year. Chahal might find wickets regularly in the 2nd half of the IPL this season.
