Virat Kohli and his men will look to end their trophy drought by winning the IPL 2021. With the new director Mike Hesson in charge, RCB fans worldwide feel that this is going to be their year. Last season, RCB managed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in 4 years. However, they could simply not convert their hopes into action. This season, the Bengaluru franchise will kickstart things against Mumbai on 9th April 2021. Here are 5 players who could assist RCB on their road to the playoffs:

Devdutt Padikkal

Devdutt Padikkal was arguably RCB’s most consistent batsman last season in the IPL. Playing 14 matches in IPL 2020, Padikkal amassed a total of 473 runs. Padikkal also boasts an impressive batting average of 31.53 in IPL 2020. After putting up a superb outing in IPL 2020, fans worldwide would expect Padikkal to rise to the occasion again.

Virat Kohli

What is RCB without their skipper? Kohli is RCB’s main man, and the highest run scorer in IPL history. Every year, Kohli is expected to smash 500+ runs. However, he did not have the best outing in IPL 2020, managing only 466 runs in that season. Kohli, however, will be in high spirits this time after a superb outing against England in the limited overs series. Fans expect Kohli to be at his brilliant best this season.

AB De Villiers

The RCB icon is another player whom the team will rely upon to win matches. Whenever RCB has struggled, AB De Villiers has been their blessing in disguise. De Villiers has single-handedly won matches for RCB on several occasions. In IPL 2020, De Villiers amassed 454 runs in 15 games. De Villiers is expected to go out all guns blazing in the 2021 edition of the IPL.

Glenn Maxwell

A lot is expected from RCB’s headline signing Glenn Maxwell. Maxwell endured a rather torrid season in IPL 2020. In 13 matches, Maxwell managed only 108 runs in total. Fans expect Maxwell to display batting fireworks similar to that in the 2014 IPL season.

Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal has not had the best of times considering the international format. Chahal really struggled with the ball against Australia in the limited-overs series. Moreover, he was also not quite useful against England in the recently contested ODI and T20I series. However, when it comes to the IPL, Chahal has been quite handy with the ball for Kohli’s team. Chahal is expected to display a better bowling performance in the IPL this season.
