The 14th edition of the IPL was called off on 4th May 2021. Owing to a surge in COVID-19 cases in the IPL 2021 bio bubble, the BCCI was forced to take this decision. Before the IPL 2021 got suspended, we witnessed some tremendous performances with both ball and bat. That said, here is a list of 5 players who would be unhappy with the suspension of IPL 2021:

5. Avesh Khan (DC)

Avesh Khan was DC’s most successful bowler in the IPL this year. Playing 8 matches in IPL 2021, Khan scalped a total of 14 wickets. Furthermore, the bowler also maintained a decent bowling economy of 7.70 in IPL 2021. Clearly, Avesh Khan was one of the contenders for the Purple Cap in IPL 2021.

4. Chris Morris (RR)

The South African was RR’s most successful bowler in the IPL this year. In 7 matches in IPL 2021, Morris scalped a total of 14 wickets. The bowler registered his best bowling figure of 4/23 this season against KKR in the 18th match of IPL 2021. Chris Morris also played some crucial cameos with the bat this season. RR fans will expect Morris to deliver in a similar fashion in the IPL next season.

3. Ravindra Jadeja (CSK)

Ravindra Jadeja was enjoying his time in the IPL this season. The all-rounder was prolific with both ball and bat in IPL 2021. The Saurashtra all-rounder is also one of the best fielders in the world. Jadeja was pivotal in CSK’s success in the IPL this year. His terrific batting strike rate of 161.72 and his bowling economy of 6.70 in IPL 2021 clearly show his versatility as a cricketer.

2. AB de Villiers (RCB)

AB de Villiers was at his explosive best in the IPL this season. The South African single-handedly won matches for RCB on a few occasions this season. In 7 matches in IPL 2021, de Villiers has 207 runs to his name, with a blistering strike rate of 164.28. RCB fans will expect to see more of AB de Villiers in the upcoming seasons of the IPL.

1. Shikhar Dhawan (DC)

At no 1 in this list is Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan is the highest run-getter of the suspended IPL 2021. In just 8 matches this season, Dhawan smacked a total of 380 runs in total. If IPL 2021 did not discontinue, Shikhar Dhawan was the clear favorite to win the Orange cap. The DC opener put a strong case open for India in the upcoming T20 World cup.
