The IPL has played a vital role in the upbringing of raw and young talented Indian players, and the IPL 2020 was no different. Here is a list of 5 such players who have shown immense potential:

1. Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan has had a wonderful IPL season. Indeed, the young 22-year-old was one of the pillars of this season's reigning champions' batting line-up. Ishan has hit 516 runs so far in 14 games, averaging 57.33 and with a strike rate of almost 145.76, leaving him only behind KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, and Shreyas Iyer. He has also been acclaimed with the title of hitting the most sixes this season, with 30.

2. Devdutt Padikkal

This 20-year-old RCB nurtured talent is RCB’s leading run-scorer, surpassing Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers, amassing 473 runs in just 15 games. He boasted an impressive strike rate of 124.8, hitting 5 half-centuries throughout the season. He even managed to garner attention from the likes of Sourav Ganguly, who backed Padikkal to receive a call-up for the Indian National Team.

3. Suryakumar Yadav

One familiar name in this list would be Suryakumar Yadav, and he has proved this season why he deserves a national call-up. This magnificent 30-year-old batsman has played a truly pivotal role in the success of MI. With a terrific average of around 30.2 and a strike rate of 134.57, he has shown why his omission from the Indian National Team for the tour of Australia could prove to be a wrong one. Overall, he has managed to hit 480 runs in 16 games.

4. T Natarajan

Picked in absence of SRH’s star bowler Bhuvenshwar Kumar, T Natarajan has not disappointed. His deadly ability to bowl inch-perfect yorkers bagged him 16 wickets in 16 matches. With Varun Chakravarthy out due to an injury, Natarajan received his maiden call-up from the Indian National Team thanks to his outstanding performance in the IPL 2020.

5. Ruturaj Gaikwad

There was indeed something left for the CSK fans to cheer about, thanks to the likes of the 23-year-old Ruturaj Gaikwad. The talented right-handed batsman played for the CSK 6 times, managing to score an impressive 204 runs, averaging a terrific 51. You know you have what it takes when Mahendra Singh Dhoni has nothing but praises for you.
