Cricketing fans across the world are excited as we’re in the World Cup year. The ODI World Cup 2023 is set to be played later this year in the month of October and November. Meanwhile, the Indian Cricket Board has also started the preparations for the marquee international tournament.
The media reports have learned that the arch-rivals India and Pakistan could face each other on the league stage at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Other than this, the final of the tournament is also likely to be played at World’s biggest stadium in Ahmedabad.
A few of the other reports also understand that India could face Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Interestingly, the Indian Cricket Board is reported to spend INR 500 crores to renovate and upgrade stadiums.
Subsequently, a section of Indian cricket fans immediately took it as an opportunity to troll Pakistan on the micro-blogging site Twitter. They also questioned the potential of Pak batting attack in stadiums with bigger boundaries like Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Here’s how fans reacted:

According to the sources, the Indian team requested to schedule their fixtures against SENA teams (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and South Africa) at stadiums with spin-friendly surfaces. So, it might help the hosts to take the so-called and alleged home advantage.
“The Indian team has performed well on slow tracks in the past few years at home. So, the team management had requested that whenever the schedule is being prepared the Indian team should face top teams on slow pitches. They wanted to have a home advantage,” said the Indian Cricket Board source to the Indian Express.
