A huge Sanju Samson cut-out installed outside the venue of India's next match, pics go viral

Sanju Samson, the Indian cricketer, has a large fan base, and his fans are always eager to show their support. The wicketkeeper-batter has been in and out of the Indian team throughout his career. The fans of Indian cricket have always opined that the cricketer should be a regular member of the squad.

India, meanwhile, is all set to play South Africa in a three-match T20I series. The first match will be played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. This also happens to be the home of Sanju Samson. The fans of the cricketer have gone wild as the Indian team has landed in Thiruvananthapuram, even though Samson is not with the team.

A group of fans known as the "Sanju Samson Fans Kerala" or the "SSFK" installed a huge cut-out of the 27-year-old outside the venue ahead of the match. The pictures of the same have gone viral over the internet.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal recently posted photos of a large crowd chanting Samson's name around the team bus. Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav won millions of hearts in Thiruvananthapuram by flashing a picture of Samson to the fans from the bus, eliciting cheers and applause for Kerala's poster boy.

There was outrage when Samson was not named to the squads for the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. Despite good performances in his few games, the Kerala-born was never a first-choice team player. Recently, he was included in the T20 squad against West Indies only because KL Rahul couldn't recover in time.

Samson, who hasn't played for India since the Zimbabwe series, is expected to play in the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa after captaining India A in three unofficial ODIs against New Zealand A. The young batter would like to continue making his case for a permanent spot in the team setup, as he has done well in his limited opportunities this year.
