The veteran England pacer and the modern-day bowling great, Stuart Broad finally announced his retirement from international cricket. He decided to make this announcement after the end of the third day’s play in the ongoing fifth Ashes 2023 Test between England and Australia. Notably, he achieved the amazing feat of 600 Test wickets in the ongoing Ashes 2023 against Australia.
Meanwhile, Broad also recalled a famous incident that happened to be upon him during the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007. It was a group match between India and England in which former Indian batter Yuvraj Singh smashed six sixes in an over of Stuart Broad.
I was left very short as an international performer – Stuart Broad on recalling Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes
Recalling that very moment of getting hit for six sixes in an over, the England star reckoned that it was really a tough day for him.
“Yeah, it was obviously a pretty tough day, what would I have been, 21, 22? I learned a lot, I pretty much based a whole mental routine through that experience, knowing that I was left very short as an international performer. I'd rushed my preparation, I didn't have any pre-ball routine, I didn't have any focus,” said Broad to the journalists in a press conference after the end of day three in the fifth Ashes 2023 Test.
"I started building my 'warrior mode' that I call it after that experience. Ultimately, I wish that didn't happen. What really helped me was that it was a dead rubber, so I didn't feel like I'd knocked us out of the World Cup. But I think it steeled me up to make me the competitor I am to this day and has driven me forward a huge amount,” he added.

What a lovely career arc for Broady, from being hit for six 6's early in his career to now retiring as a legend of the game.
It was an amazing motivational story by Stuart. From being taken off for six sixes in an over to 5th highest wicket taker (2nd fast bowler) in test cricket
