Aakash Chopra was quite impressed with Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling against RCB in IPL 2021. The Indian cricket commentator recently stated that Jadeja is unplayable in a pitch where the ball turns a bit. While Jadeja’s 68 off 22 was the highlight of the show, the CSK all-rounder took 3 crucial wickets for CSK. Jadeja got the better of Washington Sundar, Glenn Maxwell, and AB de Villiers. Due to his brilliant outing with bat and ball against RCB, Jadeja won the Man of the Match award.
In a review of the CSK-RCB match on his youtube channel, Chopra revealed how Jadeja was dangerous with the ball. Chopra stated that Jadeja has bowled really well on pitches that support spin bowlers. Furthermore, Chopra also stated that Jadeja was quite economical with the ball in hand. Bowling a total of 4 overs, Jadeja conceded just 13 runs in total, averaging just 3.5 runs per over. Chopra also praised Jadeja for his brilliant run out of Dan Christian. The CSK all-rounder has proved that he is the complete all-rounder.
I still feel that CSK don't utilize Jadeja’s ability to the best - Aakash Chopra
While praising Jadeja for his brilliant performance against RCB, Aakash Chopra felt that Jadeja has yet to display his full potential. The former Indian cricketer stated that Jadeja did not get to bat much in the IPL this year. However, this year, Jadeja finally got his chance to bat higher in CSK’s batting order. In 5 matches for CSK in IPL 2021, Jadeja has already amassed 102 runs for CSK. In IPL 2020, Jadeja played 14 matches and amassed only 232 runs in total.
Aakash Chopra signed off by stating that Jadeja single-handedly guided CSK to victory against RCB. The fact that Ravindra Jadeja smacked 37 runs off Harshal Patel’s final over spoke volumes about his batting ability. Harshal Patel is the current Purple Cap holder in IPL 2021. In just 5 matches this season, Patel has scalped an impressive 15 wickets in total. Jadeja’s assault of 37 runs in 6 balls against Harshal Patel is the joint most expensive over in IPL history. Back in IPL 2011, Chris Gayle completely annihilated Kochi’s bowler Prasanth Parameswaran. Playing for RCB in IPL 2011, Gayle smacked 37 runs in Prasanth’s over.
