Shikhar Dhawan should lead India in Sri Lanka: Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra feels that opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan should captain the Indian team. Chopra also reckoned that the DC opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw should also open the batting for India. The former cricketer stated that Shaw has been in excellent form and will be the first choice for the opener's position. Aakash Chopra also selected Shreyas Iyer in the side and opined that if the batsman is available, then he should play. Chopra then slotted MI batsmen Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan at No.4 and No.5, respectively.

Aakash Chopra also picked the Pandya brothers and mentioned that Hardik Pandya should be the team's vice-captain. He also picked Yuzvendra Chahal, Deepak Chahar, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the team. He further added that Chahar and Kumar should bowl in the powerplay. Chopra then picked Navdeep Saini and left-arm pacer Thangarasu Natarajan. Chopra then reckoned that Rahul Chahar and Varun Chakravarthy would be the two extra spinners in the team.

The commentator has also reserved a place for right arm seamer Prasidh Krishna in the team. Chopra then selected Sanju Samson and Deepak Hooda as well. He claimed that Sanju Samson had scored a hundred in the 14th season of the IPL, and Deepak Hooda is also in great form.
