England, under the captaincy of Ben Stokes, played with the right intent in the recently-concluded Ashes 2023. England bounced back to win the third and fifth Tests, ending the series against Australia with a 2-2 scoreline. Notably, they lost the first two matches of the series.
During a recent press conference, the English team's captain, Stokes, was asked whether England's 'Bazball' approach would be effective in India. He responded with a clear answer, stating that only time can tell.
who knows if we can do it against India, only time will tell – Ben Stokes
"I remember when we beat New Zealand 3-0, (the chatter) was we couldn't do it against South Africa, (we) couldn't do it against Pakistan, (we) couldn't do it against Australia. So, who knows if we can do it against India, only time will tell," said Stokes during a press conference after the 5th Test at The Oval in London.
Last year, England surprised the world with their unique Bazball approach, which they introduced following their one-off Test against India. In the Test series, they achieved a clean sweep of 3-0 against New Zealand. Following this, they crushed South Africa in the three-match series by 2-1 with a stunning comeback after a defeat in the first Test.
Furthermore, they amazed everyone by defeating Pakistan in their own backyard on the dead wickets. England managed to extract the results on almost flat wickets of Pakistan. Ben Stokes’ men completely outmuscled the hosts and won the three-match series by 3-0.
Now, the next assignment for England in the Test format is their away tour of India for a five-match Test series, starting from the 25th of January next year in 2024. It was in 2012-13 when England last won a Test series in India. Following that, they lost two consecutive Test series by 0-4 and 1-3.
Ben Stokes' statement about 'Bazball' in India resulted in him being targeted by trolls among the Indian cricket fan community. They took to Twitter and came up with some interesting reactions while reminding Ben Stokes about the Indian conditions.

Definitely can’t do

We have only seen England play Bazball predominantly on flat decks. The Ashes they only had 20 minutes of tricky condtions at Edgbaston and they didn't look good. On rank turners players like Ducket and Crawley will be slaughtered.
