Sydney Sixers, on Wednesday, booked a seat for themselves in the final after beating Adelaide Strikers. Hayden Kerr played a brilliant knock of 98 not out to guide them through. They will now face Perth Scorchers on Friday. However, it is not all easy for the Sixers. The team was unable to produce a fully fit, Covid-free, team against the Strikers.

Assistant coach Jay Lenton had to put on the gloves and keep the wickets for his team in place of Josh Phillipe. In this bizarre situation, Dan Christian made a bizarre request on Twitter ahead of the final match.

He requested the localities  to come and play for Sixers in the BBL final as the team is unable to find XI players “Shout out to anyone in Melbourne that wants a game of cricket tomorrow night. My team is struggling to get 11 covid free, fit players on the park. Warm-up starts at 6.30 pm at Marvel Stadium. Free beer afterwards, potentially out of a large cup. DM if keen ‘no test cricketers.'”

Responding to this tweet, AB de Villiers- former South African Cricketer- said he would only be interested if got to bowl four overs in the game. Jofra Archer questioned, “Do I have to pay subs?”

Here are the tweets:

According to some reports, Sydney Sixers are expecting Steve Smith to join them for the finals. Smith was earlier barred from playing for Sixers by BBL officials as per the rule that prevented local signings from outside the central replacement player pool.
