Wicket-keeper batsman AB de Villiers has now become the first cricketer to bag the Player of the Match award 25 times in IPL. Former South African skipper accomplished this milestone after being awarded the Man of the Match in the IPL 2021 fixture between the DC and RCB on Tuesday. AB de Villiers played a brilliant knock of 75 runs to help his side clinch the fifth victory of the season. The 37-year-old slammed five sixes and three fours in his unbeaten 42-ball knock against Delhi Capitals.
AB De Villiers' knock against DC has also helped him go past the 5000-run mark in the Indian Premier League. The right-handed batsman became the second overseas player to do so after David Warner. He is also the first and only cricketer with over 5000 runs and a strike rate of over 150 in the IPL. The Proteas pacer is also the fastest to the mark, having done so in 3288 balls.

De Villiers' unbeaten innings of 75 runoff just 42 balls helped RCB post a decent total of 171/5 in their allotted 20-overs quota.
