England fought back well in Ashes 2023 after being 2-0 down in the series to draw the series 2-2. England's 'Bazball' tactic coped the brunt in the first two games because of the losses but England stayed firm and backed their plans which gave parity to the result. The Three Lions beat Pakistan 3-0 in Pakistan and also New Zealand at home. Now the big Test for England will be whether the Bazball mantra will work in India.

England last won a Test series in 2012 under the leadership of Alistar Cook. Joe Root and Kevin Pietersen starred with the bat for the visitors in the series. India were not able to get past the magic of spinners Graeme Swann and Monty Panesar in the series as they were all over the Indian batters. Nasser Hussain in an interview with the Cricket Governing Body said Bazball would not be easy against the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin who are masters of their craft and almost unplayable in home conditions.

I would be foolish to write off James Anderson for the India series -Nasser Hussain

. "They said Bazball will work against one side, then they moved on to the next side. Then they moved on to New Zealand, Australia, and Pakistan. The next challenge is India and everyone knows India in India is one of the sternest challenges in Test match cricket." Hussain said. The Three Lions were troubled by Axar Patel during the 2021 series where the left-arm spinner had an unforgettable series of matches.

"Jimmy's (Anderson) got a very good record against India... and you need a balanced attack. You need that experience for younger players to come in," The former England captain added. "Listen, Jimmy's had a bad or an average couple of months, but you are a fool if you're writing off Jimmy Anderson. I spoke to him in an interview and he was like, the hunger is still there. He's already thinking about how to get back to his best," Hussain added.

With Moeen Ali and Stuart Broad no longer part of the Test fold, England will be hoping for Anderson to come good. They will also hope that Jack Leach will be back to full fitness for the India series. The fans will be hoping it will be a great set of Test matches to watch.
