The four-time champions Chennai Super Kings and the IPL 2022 champions locked horns in the much-anticipated and historic final of the Indian Premier League 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Notably, it happened to be the first-ever final in the history of the Indian Premier League that lasted for three days to come up with a result.

Talking about the entire action of the match, the young GT batter Sai Sudharsan stole the show in the first innings as he played a sensational knock of 96 runs off just 47 balls with eight boundaries and six sixes to his name. The senior opener Wriddhiman Saha also scored a half-century with 54 runs including five fours and a six with the wood. Other than these two, the leading run-scorer of IPL 2023 and GT superstar, Shubman Gill also contributed with 39 runs off just 20 balls hitting seven fours.

Young pacer Matheesha Pathirana scalped two wickets for CSK in the first innings alongside one wicket each claimed by Deepak Chahar and Ravindra Jadeja.

While chasing the target, the veteran opener Devon Conway played a crucial knock of 47 runs off just 25 balls with four boundaries and two sixes on his credit. Later on Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja managed to give a thrilling finish to the match in favor of CSK as Jadeja smashed a six and a four on two consecutive balls when CSK required 10 runs off just 2 balls.

Eventually, Chennai scored 171 runs for the loss of five wickets in the revised 15 overs of the game and registered the historic ever title win the history of the Indian Premier League.
