Former legendary Pakistan skipper and one of the greatest batters of his time, Javed Miandad has sparked a new controversial debate with his recent statement regarding Team India’s unwillingness to visit Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023. Although the Indian Cricket Board had already cleared their stand a couple of times earlier regarding their visit to Pakistan soil to play the Asia Cup 2023.
Miandad was recently in conversation with the podcast of famous Pakistani YouTuber Nadir Ali where the former spoke out of his heart on a couple of concerned issues of cricket in India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, he also expressed his views on India’s rigid stance of not visiting Pakistan for the 16th edition of the continental tournament.
"Forget security. We believe that agar maut aani hai toh aani hai. Zindagi aur maut toh allah ke haath mein hai" (If death is your destiny, it will come for sure. Life and death are in the hands of the Almighty). If they call us today, we will go. But they should return too. The thing is the last time we went, but they haven't come here since. It's their turn now," said Miandad in Nadir Ali's podcast.
Here's when former Pak skipper Imran Khan called Indian Cricket Board 'arrogant
Earlier, the 1992 World Cup winner Pakistan skipper Imran Khan also called the Indian Cricket Board ‘arrogant’ and said that they are treating things like they’re ‘superpower’.
"It is a sad and unfortunate affair, the relationship between Pakistan and India. There is a lot of arrogance in the way India now behaves in the cricketing world as a superpower. Because of their ability to generate a lot of funds, more than any other country, I think they almost dictate now as a sort of the arrogance of a superpower of who they should play and who they shouldn't," said Imran to Times Radio.
