In a delightful piece of news for Indian cricket fans, star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has cleared the fitness test of the National Cricket Academy and he has gotten a go-ahead from the authorities to be a part of the Indian squad for the first Test against the Aussies starting on Thursday, the 9th of February.
The report by Cricbuzz understands that the 34-year-old will join the camp rest of the squad in Nagpur very soon.
“All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been cleared to participate in the series-opening Nagpur Test against Australia by the National Cricket Academy. A fitness report on his readiness to participate was issued by the NCA on Wednesday (February 1), paving the way for him to join the rest of the squad in Nagpur, where the team will have a short camp in preparation for the Test and the series,” reads the report.
Notably, Jadeja hasn’t been a part of the Indian team in international cricket for the last couple of months due to the back injury that he sustained during the Asia Cup 2022.

In another line of events, middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer is doubtful for the Nagpur Test as he is yet to recover completely from the back injury. Meanwhile, World number 1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav is likely to make his Test debut in the first of the four-match Test series against Pat Cummins’ men.
