Both India and Pakistan are currently busy playing the ongoing 20-20 World Cup in Australia. Both teams kicked off their campaign on 23 October 2022 when they locked horns with each other in Melbourne. However, the Men in Blue came out victorious by four wickets in that mega clash. Even, India are now in a strong position to qualify for the semi-finals after winning back-to-back games.
On the other hand, Pakistan had the chance to do well in their second game against Zimbabwe on 27 October. But, they failed again as they lost to Zimbabwe by one run. Thus, with two back-to-back losses, the Men in Green are in a critical condition to qualify for the last four. After such a humiliating loss, former Pakistan players came up and shared their views on social media platforms. Shoaib Akhtar was no exception in that case as he slammed the Pakistan team in a video on his YouTube channel.

Speaking about the match, Zimbabwe won the toss and choose to bat first. They showed great counter-attacking cricket against a top bowling lineup of Pakistan. But, they managed only 130 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs despite such a great start in the first six overs. In reply, Pakistan batters bottled it completely as they managed only 129 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Thus, Zimbabwe created history by defeating Pakistan for the first time in a World Cup. They won the match by one run.
In that video of Shoaib Akhtar, he criticized Babar Azam and his captaincy abilities. He also raised questions about the top-order and middle-order batters. Akhtar also added that Babar Azam’s miscalculation gifted the first match to India. Then, Akhtar said that he already said earlier that Pakistan will come back to Pakistan this week only. In continuation to that, he said: “Aagle haffte India wapas aa jayegi. Woh bhi semi-final khelke wapas aa jayegi. Woh bi koi itne tees maar khan nahi hai.” (“India will come back in the next week only. They will come back after playing in the semi-final. They are also not any great team.”) Hearing that from the legendary pacer of Pakistan, Indian fans were not happy and they started to slam Shoaib Akhtar on Twitter.
