The biggest stage of cricket is set to witness fiery performances in the next one and a half months as ten teams from all over the globe take on each other for the prestigious ODI World Cup 2023. The biggest rivalries and high-voltage clashes are set to entertain fans in the next few weeks. However, the most-awaited clash between India and Pakistan is set to take place on October 14.

Ahead of the marquee game, former Pakistan cricketer Waqar Younis dropped a bombshell on his team only. While speaking with official broadcasters, Younis said that Babar Azam-led Pakistan is a weaker side in comparison to Rohit Sharma's India. He said that Pakistan will play under immense pressure as they look to stop India's winning streak against them.

"As we all know, it (India vs. Pakistan) will be the biggest game, mother of all the games. So, when you play in Ahmedabad, you will have to control your nerves, and not only Pakistan will be under pressure since it is a weaker team as compared to India. But India will also be under pressure because the crowd in the stadium will create pressure on both teams," says Younis. "However, if we judge purely based on the team's performance, India will definitely be a better team," he further added.

Pakistan has yet to beat India in the ODI World Cup

It is worth noting that in the last seven face-offs, India has thrashed arch-rival Pakistan in ODI World Cups. Hosts will look to continue their dominance and make it eight against the neighbours. On the other hand, Babar Azam-led Pakistan will look to end the losing streak against India and lift the trophy for the second time. Pakistan will face India at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.

In the last few weeks, India has dominated Pakistan in ODI cricket. They thrashed them by 228 runs in the Super 4 game of the Asia Cup 2023 and won the trophy. On the other hand, Pakistan failed to win against Sri Lanka and was eliminated from the tournament. It will be an interesting battle to see, as almost 16 out of 18 Pakistani players are travelling to India for the first time.
