The veteran Indian pacer is a part of the playing XI in the ongoing third of the four-match Test series against Australia. He proved his worth for Team India by scalping three wickets in the first session of the second day; he conceded only 12 runs in his spell of five overs against the Aussies.
Umesh Yadav is selected in the 3rd Test keeping an eye on the WTC Final as Jasprit Bumrah is certain to miss. (Reported by Cricbuzz).

Although the media reports have learned that Umesh has been given the priority to consider him in the final of the Test championship 2023 at the place of Jasprit Bumrah. Although this report and speculation aren’t going down well with the Indian cricket fans; they immediately took to troll the Indian Cricket Board and Jasprit Bumrah as well.

India in a thin patch during the Indore Test against Australia
Talking about the current action of the ongoing Indore Test, the Indian team is struggling in a very thin situation in the match as they have posted a target of only 76 for Australia to win. The hosts got all out only on the score of 163 runs in the second innings, taking a lead of only 75 runs over Australia’s first-inning lead of 88 runs.
The senior batter and veteran Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara was the lone fighter against the lethal spin attack of Australia. The 35-year-old played a knock of 59 runs off 142 runs including five boundaries and a six to his name.
Nathan Lyon amazed everyone with his stunning performance scalping 8 wickets by conceding only 64 runs in 23.3 overs. Apart from him, the senior pacer Mitchell Starc and Matthew Kuhnemann scalped one wicket each.
Other than Pujara, Shreyas Iyer was the only other batter who crossed the 20+ runs with a knock of 26 runs off 27 balls with three boundaries and two sixes on his credit.
Currently, Rohit Sharma’s men are currently leading the four-match Test series by a margin of 2-0 with two convincing wins in the Nagpur and Delhi Tests respectively.
